Nestled between the Sawatch and Sangre de Cristo Mountains outside of Salida, this new home incorporates both mountain and desert design. Wood siding and timber accents blend with metal, stucco, and stone for a unique aesthetic that fits well with this high desert location. Layered and intersecting shed roofs direct water and snow away from entries and patios.
With breathtaking views in every direction and a dynamic climate with hot summer days and freezing winters, it was important to design outdoor living spaces on different sides of the house for different exposures.
Depending on time or year, time of day and weather, there is almost always a comfortable outdoor area to take in the views.
Strategically placed windows also capture those panoramic views to bring the outside in, allowing our clients to enjoy true indoor-outdoor living.
