This modern interpretation of the classic cabin in the woods features mountain vernacular architecture reminiscent of old mining structures in form and materials with a rusty metal base for snow and water protection. Exposed timber rafters, columns and beams complete the look. Simple, mono-pitch shed roofs direct snow away from entry doors and outdoor spaces and add a contemporary touch. This efficient cabin serves as the primary home on the site while the future main residence is designed and built at which point it will serve as the accessory dwelling unit.
